(Tuesday, August 30; 6:45 pm – 9 pm @ Emmanuel Episcopal Parish Hall)
The third in a series of talks and Insight Dialogue meditation practice focuses on the Buddha’s teaching of Right Relations – As we meditate together with others, our interpersonal lives mature. Without trying to fix things, the intention to be more aware and receptive leads naturally to harmony. Gregory Kramer, an Orcas Island resident, has taught Vipassana and Metta practice since 1980. Gregory is the director of the Metta Foundation and teaches worldwide (www.metta.org). Gregory is the author of Insight Dialogue: the Interpersonal Path to Freedom; Seeding the Heart: Practicing Loving kindness with Children; Meditating Together, Speaking from Silence: the Practice of Insight Dialogue; and Dharma Contemplation: Meditating Together with Wisdom Texts. He holds a PhD in Learning and Change in Human Systems. These talks are freely offered to the Orcas community. Sponsored by Everyone’s Village and the Metta Foundation.
And don’t forget The Blast for all your Orcas Island information.
Hi Mr. Evans,
My name is Lilian, I’m a travel writer based in Victoria, BC. I’m looking to expand my list of areas that I write about to include Seattle and the San Juan islands and I was wondering if there is a website with attractions, events etc.on Orcas Island that you could point me to.
Thanks,
Lilian (http://inretrospect21.wordpress.com)
Hi Lilian –
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I would suggest the Chamber of Commerce website (www.orcasislandchamber.com). We try to list upcoming events on the home page, and there is also a link to a community calendar on the site. Feel free to contact me at the Chamber if you need more information. Lance Evans
