‘BRAIN ATTACK’ STROKE SURVIVAL CLASS @ FIRE STATION (Friday, October 29 at 10 am) In the United States, someone has a stroke every 40 seconds. Orcas Island Fire & Rescue, will host a Public Stroke Talk. Islanders need to be aware of their stroke risk and have a strong knowledge of stroke symptoms to get the treatment they or their loved one needs.  You will learn how to act F.A.S.T.  The class will last approximately 1.5 hours. At the end, there will be a brief overview of what you need to know to save a life with CPR (Not a certification class).  No RSVP required. Use the F.A.S.T. method for recognizing symptoms F = FACE (Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?) A = ARMS (Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?)
